The Most Underrated Definition of Success

In a recent breathwork + coaching session, something surprising happened.

The person I was working with came in with a very specific challenge:

👉 how to charge fairly for her work without feeling conflicted.

Halfway through the session, when she dropped into that deep, peaceful state that breathwork creates, I asked:

“What do you most value right now?”

Her answer wasn’t money. It wasn’t recognition. It wasn’t even freedom. It was simple:

“My work. My service.”

And with that came the realisation…

Her biggest challenge and her deepest appreciation were one and the same.

So often we treat our challenges and our desires as two separate things.
We think: If I can fix this problem, then I’ll be happy.

But the reality is — the things we wrestle with are often the very things we love most.

She had been measuring success against an old paradigm: fees, criticism, external validation.
But underneath that?
Peace. Presence. Service.

That’s what she truly valued.

When I asked: “What does success feel like?” she paused.

At first she said: “Freedom.”
Then it landed more deeply:

“Peace.”

Peace was the state she’d longed for.
Peace was the thing that mattered beyond money or titles.
And peace was what she touched through her own work of service.

And the irony is:
When you connect to that level of intention and love for what you do… charging more becomes natural.

She saw and felt the real impact of her work.
She realised that peace is what she was delivering to her clients.

And once she appreciated the depth of transformation that creates…
She knew a new car or a bigger house could never deliver the same impact.

That’s success.
Not more. Not louder. Not faster.

But the absence of noise.

And now she feels no guilt around charging.
Because she’s not “selling” — she’s connected to her intention and she knows it’s good.

She can structure her pricing so she can serve those in need and offer a premium service to cover the cost — all while leaning into what she loves.

The irony? The very next day, two amazing opportunities opened up for her.

It wasn’t manifestation.
It was cognitive bias.

She’d reoriented herself.
She was fully present.
And she knew exactly what she was looking for.

Take a moment today and ask yourself:

✨ What do I most deeply appreciate right now?

Then ask:

👉 How is that connected to the very challenge I’m facing?

You may find, as in this session, that they’re not separate at all.

Success isn’t out there waiting at the finish line.
It’s here.
It’s peace.
And it’s available the moment you stop chasing and start being.

So… what do you want to be today?
